The first Northstar Basketball College Showcase, held on Sunday, October 5, 2008, was a smashing success!  Over 100 of the top players in the New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia metro areas were in attendance.  Approximately 15 colleges were represented, as well as multiple scouting services.  Please go to http://blog.northstarbball.com/ to read Alex Schwartz's event coverage.

Matthew Pauls (Founder), A.D. Gaffney, and Terry McCoy, of Northstar Basketball, LLC, are experienced high school and AAU coaches.  They all played college basketball, and their collective network of contacts in the college coaching ranks is vast.  They plan to work with many nationally respected coaches, talent evaluators, and basketball experts to run a couple of weekend exposure events and to help players get "looks" from colleges/universities. 

Alex Schwartz, the Chief Scouting Officer and main writer for Northstar Basketball, will coordinate the scouting/recruiting aspect of the showcase events, working with a number of scouting/recruiting services to ensure all showcase participants are evaluated. Alex will also report directly to multiple D1/D2/D3 college coaches on potential prospects.  Alex also will will provide the latest information on the foremost figures on the high school/AAU basketball scene, from players to coaches to program directors, via the Northstar Basketball blog at http://blog.northstarbball.com/ - check it out!!
